Carbon Capture: Clean Energy in China

Law has also continued his activities in working with Chinese colleagues on the establishment of an infrastructure on fundamental combustion research in China to support the country's technological needs in energy sustainability and climate issues. In particular, he is now on the advisory board for the National Institute for Clean Energy (NICE), which is a research complex being built by the Shenhua Group a state-owned mining and energy company, and the largest coal producing concern in the world. The goal of NICE is to perform R&D on various technologies related to low-carbon energy. Simultaneously, Law has also been assisting Tsinghua University in establishing a combustion research center, with substantial scope on fundamental combustion and the training of the next generation of combustion researchers in China.
