Chuan’s research interests center on technological energy transitions and sit at the intersection between system modeling, environmental assessment and economics analysis. He completed his PhD in 2019 within a joint program of Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and Cambridge University (UK). His dissertation focused on optimal design and operation of energy systems at various temporal and spatial scales using techno-economic-environmental modeling and mathematical programming. His interests include techno-economic evaluation of energy-sector decarbonization technologies, including decarbonized fossil fuel power generation. Chuan also has interests in understanding potential impacts of advances in artificial intelligence on energy-system transitions.
