Research Interests

Massimo’s interest focuses on the analysis and modeling of the hydrological cycle of the South Asian summer monsoon from intraseasonal to decadal time-scales, with focus on land-atmosphere and air-sea interactions. He is also interested in studying the influence of the Himalayas and the Tibetan Plateau in the development and evolution of the summer monsoon. Massimo is currently working on the improvement of the understanding of the mechanisms of aerosols-driven changes in regional hydroclimate and circulation over South Asia and other regions of the world with the GFDL model.
