Research Interests
Robert Heilmayr is an assistant professor of environmental and ecological economics at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management and holds a joint appointment in UCSB’s Environmental Studies Program. Heilmayr combines emerging methods of causal inference from economics with the data revolution made possible through advances in Earth observation. His current research focus is on the impact of nonstate policies to end deforestation.
