Matthew Wozniak

Postdoctoral Research Associate
Matthew is an earth system scientist focusing primarily on the interactions between the Earth’s biosphere and climate. His current research aims to utilize GFDL’s land model to study the impacts of climate change and variability on the functioning of coastal blue carbon (CBC) ecosystems, which act as an important sink (with respect to the atmosphere) and reservoir of carbon. His Ph.D. research used earth system models to quantify the impact of interannual climate on pollen emissions, the impacts of pollen-borne aerosol on clouds and precipitation, and the role of vertical structure in forests in the response of carbon uptake to climate variations.
